Discover the Food, Culture and People Who Bring Marché d’Aligre to Life
Aligre is not a market I found while researching a tour. It is my neighborhood—the place where I shop, drink my coffee, greet people I know and experience the everyday Paris I love.
Come hungry—I take that instruction very seriously.
We begin with a warm pain au chocolat from one of Paris’s best bakeries before heading into the lively Marché d’Aligre. Together, we will explore its open-air stalls, historic covered market, independent food shops and wonderfully chaotic flea market.
And while we eat our way through the neighborhood, I will tell you the stories that make this corner of Paris come alive—its history, its characters and the surprising details most people walk straight past.
What we taste changes with the seasons and with what looks irresistible that morning. Expect at least ten generous sweet and savory tastings: freshly roasted coffee, seasonal fruit, crusty baguette, French cheeses, charcuterie, olives and other market discoveries. We finish at an iconic neighborhood wine bar with a glass of wine—or an excellent alcohol-free alternative— one final sweet surprise… and if curiosity—and energy—remain, I may have one final neighborhood secret to share before we say goodbye.
This is not a polished, predictable version of Paris or a checklist of “hidden gems.” It is a morning inside a real neighborhood.
Groups are intentionally small, so there is time to talk, ask questions, taste properly and enjoy the market without being herded through it. With no more than six guests, everyone can hear, ask questions, join the conversation and enjoy generous tastings—not tiny bites divided among a crowd. Aligre is one of Paris’s most vibrant and distinctive neighborhoods, and a community I feel lucky and grateful to be part of. It makes me genuinely happy when curious travelers choose to spend their morning here, and I am always proud to share the place, the people and the everyday life that have become such an important part of my own life in Paris.

This experience is designed primarily for curious international travelers who want to understand a Paris neighborhood through its food, history and people—not simply collect tastings.
Solo travelers, couples, friends and multigenerational families are welcome. Children and teenagers who enjoy trying food, asking questions and engaging with the experience can also have a wonderful time.

The experience cannot be adapted for a vegan diet. For allergies, intolerances or other dietary restrictions, please contact me before booking, as not every restriction can be accommodated.

Shared departures are normally hosted in English. Spanish-speaking guests are always welcome, and I am happy to clarify certain points in Spanish whenever helpful.
If you would prefer the entire experience in Spanish, please contact me before booking to ask about Spanish-language dates or private options.

Cancellations made at least 72 hours before the scheduled starting time are eligible for a refund, minus any stated administrative or payment-processing fees.
Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the experience are non-refundable.
The tour begins promptly. Guests arriving more than 10 minutes late WILL NOT BE ABLE to join the group and will not receive a refund. Please allow sufficient travel time to reach the meeting point.
Please avoid booking an experience on the day you arrive in Paris. Delayed or cancelled flights and trains do not qualify for a refund. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
No-shows are non-refundable.
Private tours, large-group bookings and specially arranged experiences may be subject to different cancellation terms, communicated before payment.
